Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is...

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a cognitive treatment model used to effect change. We direct our attention to the immediate and larger context of actions, as well as the inter-relatedness of individual behavior patterns.

A broad array of cognitive and emotion identification strategies are applied to resolve issues and dispel behaviors, including life-threatening behaviors. Clients are guided to achieve full acceptance of self, in addition to being grounded and "in the moment" in their surrounding world. DBT is practiced as individual psychotherapy and can be augmented with group skills training. 24/7 coaching is provided for crisis situations.

Clients presently in individual therapy would benefit greatly from the addition of the DBT skills training classes. A collaborative and consultative approach will be established and maintained.
